Making a Vase
Each vase is hand built using a slab construction technique and then glazed. The vases undergo 3 firings until they are complete.
Making a Large Bowl
Each bowl is hand built and then the hearts or other elements are made and attached or texture is inlaid. The bowls go through 2-3 firings and then are sometimes attached to wood, driftwood or another media. These bowls end up (after shrinking in the firings) at about 21" wide and 7" deep. Because of their large size they are quite precarious to make.
Making Long Boat Vessels
Each boat is hand built using a slab construction technique and then glazed. The boats are fired 3 times until they are complete. Each is textured or patterned in some way on the ends to make them unique.
